Open Cyprus in Europe

Bridges towards Europe through social media conversations

The Good Cyprus Intentions – A Parody or Reality

You are welcome friends to Cyprus, more highlights to come.

Update: 07/06/ #hadjisavvas
Just when questions arise as to the growing inlfuence and engagement of social media in Cyprus linked to the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the above Video already tagged in twitter with the hash tag #hadjisavvas, has enabled to channel comments onto YouTube Channel with many negative, insulting and ironic comments in over 90% of the cases -showing that engagement is well and alive.

The videos on YouTube is not only audio but video clips  mostly reminiscent of the CTO of the ’80s and ’90s and at best the video clip of the Cypriot Eurovision participations of the time.

As the social media are ablaze with comments from users reacting to a piece of music that appears to be the official Ministry of the Presidency while in the meantime, the press in the early hours began to make echo of the news – as in Kathimerini.

”It’s the response from the vocal minority who are quick to complain.”

The quote above is just too appropriate for the events unfolding, and will probably be used in support of the silent masses.  In the mean time reactions by Deputy President of Cyprus for European Affairs Mr. Andreas Mavroyiannis  will not  make themselves wait, nor the long list of questions until the next release of 3 other versions of the song on the 22 of June.

”Respect my creativity, says the Artist.”

Artist Mr. Hadjisavvas, in an articulate and convinced notification announces the official launch of ‘Friends Welcome to Cyprus’ in Nicosia on the 22nd of June and clarifies the origins of the video and it’s intentions.
