The Commissioner for Development, Andris Piebalgs, paid a one day visit to Cyprus on Tuesday for contacts ahead of the Cypriot EU Presidency. After meeting President Christofias, the House Standing Committee, officials from the Planning Bureau and Foreign Minister Erato Kozakou Markoullis, he spoke exclusively to Eurofile’s Rosie Charalambous and described the Cyprus Presidency as “one of the most important half years in EU history”.
