The Call for Reflecting upon Kyrenia’s reconciliation

The petition for the ‘reconciliation vigil’ has it’s course set to take place at the city of Kyrenia next 6th of May 2013.

Embraced as an opportunity for citizen-led initiative to reconcile with neighbors and neighborhoods in the ever pending wait for a return from exile.
The petition comes at a timely moment at the end of the term of Cyprus Presidency with advances in human rights discussions, with little progress however for Kyrenia and other towns which have been occupied since 1974.
The petition for the ‘Reconciliation Vesper‘ has began it’s own Journey, in search of the particular authorizations needed for full compliance with current legalities and logistics requirements.
It  is primarily supported by the Municipality of Kyrenia and it’s 1.500 constituents led by Mayor  Glafkos Kariolou,  who is rather positive about the benefits of citizen-led initiatives  actively seeking better outcomes from reconciliations efforts at grass root levels.
Let’s all just hope that the petition get’s its  success and reaches it’s objective next spring.
