Bridges towards Europe through social media conversations
It is with the winds of change and appreciation that confidence can be transmitted. We would like to instill a sensation of brilliance for the onward journey of the Council of the European Union that will be presided by Ireland. This belief of reliance is borne partially of the fact that Ireland has done this 6 times and with a baggage of 40 years within the Union, but also because the ship’s journey through the Mediterranean did fulfill it’s mission with overall and legitimate success.
A farewell salute wouldn’t be complete without a reverence to the Cyprus Presidency Communication team, whom we hope will not disappear completely into the ‘ordinary’; Our personal thanks do go to Myria’s words which enriched us with her bi-lingual and insider views on media; to Mike Simopoulos (MakiSpeaks) for having trusted and joined in the debate with when it was requested. The circle of appreciation wouldn’t be complete without a mention to the Cyprus delegation at the UE, the BloggingPortal.eu, and our links to the Eu-sphere via twitter.
I believe it is most fitting to close this 2012 chapter with a quote that resonates some of our European aspirations that, although, “Many people seem to think the EU is dull and boring. I am doing my best to make it shiny and interesting“. Let the words of Captain Europe guide the Irish Presidency tasks, as it strives to move Europe ahead of it’s challenges.
